Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Finished fourth in the shot put at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Had best marks of 54-2.50 in the shot put and 128-5 in the discus and 129-1 in the javelin. Earned All-West Region honors in the shot put. Earned 2023-24 All-CCAA Academic honors. His mark in the shot put ranks No. 10 all-time at Cal State LA.

At Covina High School: Competed in football and track and field. Was a league MVP in football as a senior and earned first-team All-League honors as a junior and senior and second-team honors as a sophomore. Earned All-CIF Division 10 honors as a senior. Was his team’s thrower of the year in track and field as a sophomore, junior and senior. Won league championships in the shot put as a junior and senior and in the discus as a senior. Had best marks of 54-0 in the shot put and 144-1 in the discus.

Personal: Son of Kalu and Angela Nwaka. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys working out, reading and researching. Lists competing and winning as his most exciting experiences in sports. Notes he loves to compete.
