Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had a strong season in his first year with the track and field program in the spring. Had best times of 54.09 in the 400 and 55.97 in the 400 hurdles. Finished ninth in the 400 hurdles at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Competed in three meets. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 32:24.1 at the Highlander Invitational. Finished 76^th at the CCAA Championships.

At East Los Angeles Junior College: Won the 110 hurdles in 16.75 and the 400 hurdles in 58.30 at the  Pasadena City College Invitational in 2022.

At Montebello High School: Won team MVP award and earned medals in the 4x400 relay and 300 hurdles.

Personal: Son of Jose Maya. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys walking. Lists competing in multiple events at the Southern California finals and scoring in the 400 hurdles, triple jump and 4x400 relay for his junior college as his most exciting experience in sports.
