Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Competed well for a second season with the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Had a best mark of 11.21 in the 100 in outdoor track. Also competed for Cal State LA’s indoor team and had best marks of 7.30 in the 60 and 24.78 in the 200. For his career, had best marks of 11.21 in the 100 and 25.97 in the 200 in outdoor track and 7.30 in the 60 and 24.78 in the 200.

2024: Competed well for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Had best marks of 11.62 in the 100 and 25.97 in the 200. Earned 2023-24 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

At Riverside Community College: Was one of the top sprinters in the conference and part of a conference champion in the 4x100 relay. Finished seventh in the 100 meters. Had best marks of 11.07 in the 100 and 22.93 in the 200.

At Corona High School: Competed in track and field. Had best marks of 11.66 in the 100, 23.99 in the 200 and 56.89 in the 400.

Personal: Son of DeMar Hooks and Gissette Martinez. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys working out. Lists competing in the So Cal Finals in his sophomore season at Riverside Community College as his most exciting experience in sports.
