Biography

2024: Had a best mark of 19-0.75 in the long jump. Earned 2023-24 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic and CCAA 2024 Spring Honor Roll recognition.

2023: Had best marks of 13.02 in the 100 meters and 21-3.25 in the long jump for the Golden Eagles. Was named to the CCAA 2022-23 All-Academic Team and received 2023 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2022: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any meets for the Golden Eagles.

At Watershed College: Was on the national rugby team. Earned a first-place trophy in the U-20 long jump. Was named the Most Spirited Rugby Player and Most Improved Rugby Player and was on a provincial rugby select team. Was also on a national select team in basketball. Competed in basketball, cricket, rugby, swimming and track and field.

Personal: Son of Wilfred and Ellah Hlanguyo. Majoring in business management. Enjoys coding. Lists winning the MVP award in rugby in his senior year of high school as his most exciting experience in sports. Older brother Shingirai competed on Cal State LA’s track and field team.
