Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Won a California Collegiate Athletic Association championship in the javelin with a season’s best mark of 199-2. Recorded a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Championships. Initially joined Cal State LA as part of the Golden Eagles’ baseball program.

At Glendale Community College: Pitched in eight games over two seasons. Allowed only three hits and an unearned run over 8 2/3 innings as a sophomore.

At Glendale High School: Competed in baseball.

Personal: Son of Jason and Sylvia Bender. Majoring in history. Enjoys playing baseball and hanging out with friends. Lists going to the playoffs with Glendale College and traveling to San Luis Obispo to face Cuesta College as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he also played soccer as a goalkeeper in striker and was a three-time USA Track & Field Junior Olympic All-American in the javelin.
