LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's men's and women's track and field teams turned in some impressive performances at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival and Jim Bush Legends Invitational at UCLA on Friday and Saturday.

Sinaiah Pointer led the way for the women's team, setting a new season's best with a 46-2 mark while placing sixth in the shot put. The mark is a provisional qualifying mark. Kailea Satterwhite also had a sixth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 153-2.

Mikaela Holguin ran a season's best time of 5:07.85 while placing 15th in the 1,500.

Cal State LA's 4x400 relay team was fifth with a time of 3:55.85 that is just above their season's best.

For the men, Drew Hill had a top finish in the 100, placing fifth with a time of 10.52, while Wallace Aflamah was eighth in 10.57.

Aflamah had the top time in the 200, finishing seventh in 21.12 with Hill taking 12th in 21.33. Aflamah's time is a season's best and just above the provisional qualifying standard of 21.11.

Nicholas Aninze had another strong race, placing fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.24, which is just above his season's best.

Nicholas Delgado had a big personal best in the 3,000 steeplechase on Friday night, placing 11th with a time of 9:50.58 that was 22 seconds faster than his previous best.

Cal State LA will return to action next weekend at the UNLV Rebel ELITE and the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Friday and Saturday and at the Texas Relays.
