Biography

2008: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and completed his four-year career with the program. Appeared and started in all 22 games. Played a total of 1,420 minutes. Had five goals and one assist for 11 points. Was second on the team in scoring. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 26. Scored his first goal of the season in a 2-1 win at Cal State San Marcos on Aug. 29. Had a goal in a 7-1 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Oct. 5 an a goal in a 2-1 win at Seattle Pacific on Nov. 1. Scored the team's only goal in CCAA Tournament game against Sonoma State on Nov. 7. For his career, appeared in 80 games and started 74 times.. Played a total of 3,199 minutes. Had nine goals and three assists for 21 points.

2007: Had another solid season for the Golden Eagles and earned All-CCAA honorable mention. Started all 21 games for Cal State L.A. Finished the season with four goals and 10 total points. Picked up one of the most dramatic goals of the season, netting the game-winner with eight seconds remaining in regulation to give the Golden Eagles a 2-1 win at Chico State on Sept. 30. Also got the game-winning goal with less than three minutes remaining in a 2-1 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 21. Also had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 14 and got his first goal of the season against Cal State San Marcos on Aug. 29.
2006: Had his second outstanding season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 22 games and started 19 times. Played a total of 1,477 minutes. Had two goals and one assist for a total of five points. Scored his first goal of the season in a 3-2 win against Cal State Bakersfield on Sept. 13. Also had a goal in a 2-1 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 27. Picked up his lone assist in a 2-1 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 20.
2005: Made a successful debut for the Golden Eagles as a freshman. Was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year and earned All-CCAA honorable mention. Was also named the team’s Freshman of the Year. Appeared in 15 games and started 12 times. Had two goals and one assist for a total of five points. Scored the first goal of his Cal State L.A. career at Cal State Stanislaus on Sept. 25. Also scored a goal and picked up an assist in a 2-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 12. Made the first start of his career in a 1-0 win over Western Washington on Aug. 26.
At Granite Hills High School: Was a key member of a team that won three consecutive CIF Championships. Earned first-team All-San Diego Union Tribune honors and was Grossmont’s Player of the Year in 2004.

Personal: Son of Phil and Mary Hewitt. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys drums and listening to music. Lists reaching the NCAA Sweet Sixteen with Cal State L.A. in 2006 as his most exciting experience in sports.
