Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had an outstanding second season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Had best marks of 25.60 in the 200 meters and 57.95 in the 400 in outdoor track. Had the team's best times in both events. Finished eighth in the 400 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships and eighth as a member of the 4x400 relay team. Also finished 10th in the 200. Had best marks of 26.13 in the 200 and 58.28 in the 400 in indoor track. For her career, had best marks of 12.88 in the 100, 25.60 in the 200 and 57.09 in the 400 in outdoor track and 26.13 in the 200 and 58.28 in the 400 in indoor track. Finished her career No. 6 all-time at Cal State LA in the 400, No. 6 all-time as part of the indoor 4x400 relay team that had a time of 3:56.92 and No. 7 as part of the distance medley relay team that had a time of 13:11.12 in indoor track.

2014: Had an impressive first season for the Golden Eagles in both indoor and outdoor track. Placed seventh in the CCAA Championships in the 400 meters and had the team’s best time in that event with a mark of 57.09. Also had best times of 12.88 in the 100 and 25.72 in the 200. Recorded best times of  27.53 in 200 and 59.28 in the 400 in indoor track.

At Laney College: Won the California State championship in the 400 meters and had a best time of 54.75. Also won Coast Conference and Northern California championships in the event. Received the team’s Most Improved award. Ranked fifth in the country in the 400. Also received the Coach’s 100% Award at Diablo Valley College.

At Ygnacio Valley High School:  Ran for two years as a freshman and sophomore. Was on the school’s Honor Roll all four years.

Personal: Daughter of Ron Orchard and Laura Arthur. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys biking, hiking, guitar and skateboarding. Lists becoming the three-time defending champion in the 400 meters and receiving the Most Improved Athlete Award from her coach Curtis Taylor as her most exciting experience in sports. Improved her 400 time from 60 seconds to 54.75 in nine months. Has a brother, Ryder Orchard.
