Biography
2017: Had another good season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Had best times of 5:14.76 in the 1,500, 19:59.89 in the 5,000 and 42:00.48 in the 10,000. For her career, had best marks of 4:47.55 in the 1,500, 10:28.88 in the 3,000, 18:40.49 in the 5,000 and 37:34.23 in the 10,000 in outdoor track and 5:16.92 in the mile and 10:32.68 in the 3,000 in indoor track. Finished her career No. 4 all-time at Cal State LA in the indoor 3,000 and No. 2 as part of the distance medley team that recorded a time of 11:58.64.
2016: Competed well for Cal State LA’s indoor track and field team, but was injured and did not compete in outdoors. Had a best time of 11:29.30 in the 3,000 meters during the indoor season.
2015: Had a strong first season with the Cal State LA track and field program. Finished 10th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 10,000 meters. Had best times of 4:47.55 in the 1,500, 10:28.88 in the 3,000, 18:40.49 in the 5,000 and 37:34.23 in the 10,000. Also ran indoor track and field for the Golden Eagles. Had best times of 5:16.92 in the mile,10:32.68 in the 3,000.and 11:58.64 as part of Cal State LA's distance medley team.
2014: Had a good season for the Cal State LA cross country program in the fall. Finished 19th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 23:29.3 over a 6,000-meter course and was the team’s No. 1 runner. Finished 128th at the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 24:30.1 over 6,000 meters and was the team’s No. 4 finisher. Finished ninth overall at the Coyote Challenge with a time of 23:25.2 over 6,000 meters. Had a best 5,000-meter course time of 20:21.2 at the UC Irvine Invitational.
At UNLV: Selected to the Academic All-Mountain West Team for cross country in 2013. Ran in six meets, including the Mountain West Championships and the NCAA West Regional. Best 5,000-meter time was 19:48.5 at the Titan Invitational and best 6,000-meter time was 25:09 at the NCAA West Regional. Finished 73rd at the Mountain West Championships and 216th at the NCAA West Regional.
At Pasadena City College: Finished ninth in the state in the 10,000 meters in 2013 and was fifth in the conference in the 10,000. Also placed sixth in the conference in the 5,000. Had best times of 2:30.62 in the 800, 4:58.63 in the 1,500, 10:50.16 in the 3,000, 18:33.71 in the 5,000 and 39:11.13 in the 10,000. Also ran in 10 cross country meets in 2011-12.
At Gabrielino High School: Competed for two years in track and field and cross country.
Personal: Daughter of Michael Steimer and Laura Barragan-Steimer. Majoring in political science. Enjoys running. Lists competing in the Armory Invitational in New York in the distance medley relay as her most exciting experience in sports.
