Biography

2017: Was on the track and field roster for the Golden Eagles, but did not compete in any meets in her final year with the program. For her career, had best marks of 64.41 in the 400 meters, 2:21.86 in the 800, 4:48.91 in the 1,500

2016: Returned from injury and competed in seven races for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Finished 68th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 24:03.6 over 6,000 meters. Also placed 145th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 24:28.8 over 6,000 meters.

2015: Competed for the Golden Eagles’ track and field team in the spring, but battled injury for most of the season. Had a best time of 2:28.58 in the 800 and 5:10.32 in the 1,500. Competed in four races for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Finished 99th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 25:15.6 over a 6,000-meter course and was 174th at the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 25:48.8 over a 6,000-meter course.

2014: Competed well in her second year with the track and field program. Had best times of 2:21.86 in the 800 and 4:48.91 in the 1,500 in outdoor track. Also posted a best time of 2:27.13 in the 800 in indoor track and field. Was one of the top runners on the Golden Eagles’ cross country team in the fall. Was the team’s No. 1 runner at the UC Irvine Invitational, finishing 23rd with a time of 19:29.9 over a 5,000-meter course. Finished 43rd at the CCAA Championships with a time of 24:03.5 over a 6,000-meter course and was the team’s No. 4 runner. Also placed 92nd at the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 23:39.8 and was the team’s No. 2 runner.

2013: Had best times of 64.41 in the 400 and 2:24.24 in the 800 in her first year with Cal State LA’s track and field program. Was one of the most improved runners on the cross country team in the fall. Was consistently in the team’s top-three. Finished 30th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 23:06.0 over 6,000 meters and was 71st in the NCAA West Regional with a time of 23:46.3. Finished in the top-10 in two meets, placing seventh at the UC San Diego Opener and finishing ninth at the Rose City Classic in Pasadena.

At Mark Keppel High School: Was the MVP of the track and field team in 2012 and co-MVP in 2011. Won Almont League championships in the 4x400 in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Cross country team won league titles in 2010 and 2011.

Personal: Daughter of Peter and Sherry Quan. Majoring in chemistry. Enjoys reading, eating and sleeping. Lists going to CIF in track and field as her most exciting experiences in sports.
