Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Had top marks of 36-0.25 in the shot put, 123-4 in the discus and 139-5 in the hammer. Had Cal State LA's best marks in all three events. Finished eighth in the hammer throw and 12th in the shot put at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Also had a good season in indoor track and field and had best marks of 36-9.75 in the shot put and 39-00.75 in the weight throw. For her career, had best marks of 36-7 in the shot put, 123-4 in the discus and 139-5 in the hammer in outdoor track and 36-9.75 in the shot put and 39-00.75 in the weight throw in indoor track.   

2014: Had an impressive first season with the Golden Eagles and had the team’s best marks in the throws. Had top marks of 36-7 in the shot put, 122-8 in the discus and 136-1 in the hammer throw. Placed seventh in the CCAA in the hammer and seventh in the discus.

At East Los Angeles College: Was on the school’s Dean’s List. Was also the team captain and earned an Athlete of the Meet award. Had best marks of 31-2 in the shot put, 110-2 in the discus and 114-7 in the hammer.

At Bell Gardens High School: Competed in track and field and soccer. Was named the team’s Most Valuable Lancer in track and field and the Most Inspirational Player in soccer. Took first place in the shot put and third place in the discus in the league finals.

Personal: Daughter of Miguel Herrera and Carmina Flores. Majoring in biology. Enjoys baking, drawing, lifting and leg day.
