LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational at UCLA on Saturday and had a big performance from a familiar face to highlight the day.

On a day that featured a relatively small group of Golden Eagles, defending California Collegiate Athletic Association 100-meter champion Drew Hill posted a career best of 20.92 while finishing third in the 200 meters. The mark is a provisional qualifying mark and was in the national top-10 pending other weekend results from across the nation.

Raye Duarte captured the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:07.05, leading six Golden Eagles across the line. Antonio Mendoza-Lopez was second in 4:20.40; Miguel Morales Lopez was third in 4:28.82, Christopher Ramirez was fourth in 4:38.21, David Bonds was fifth in 4:40.69 and Damian Bonds was sixth in 4:47.15.

The 4x400 relay team of Charles Chatman, Joshua Pearson, Will Hall and Gabriel Pearson was second in 3:22.70.

For the women, Nelly Garnica picked up a win in the 1500 with a time of 5:09.53 and Mikaela Holguin was second in 5:12.65, Priscila Haro was third in 5:41.23 and Jasmine Trujillo was fourth in 6:04.22.

Delia Bocanegra, in just her second race of the season, was third in the 800 in 2:18.80.

Cal State LA will return to action on Thursday when the Golden Eagles host the Twilight Open.
