SAN BERNARDINO -- Cal State LA's baseball team was unable to avoid a sweep on Sunday in the four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association series finale on Sunday.
The Golden Eagles had little success slowing down the Yotes' powerful offense and fell, 29-10, at Fiscalini Field. Cal State LA (15-14, 5-7 CCAA) lost all four games to Cal State San Bernardino (13-12, 7-5 zvvss0.
The game was tied after two innings, 3-3, but the Yotes scored 10 runs in the third to take the lead and added 13 more in the fourth to break the game open.
Cal State LA had five home runs in the game, including two from
Omar Gonzalez, who now has 11 on the season and shares the conference lead with James Starkus of Cal State Monterey Bay.Â

Adam Axtell and
Steven Mara also had home runs for the Golden Eagles.
Cal State San Bernardino also hit five home runs, including two from Garret Barto.
The Yotes had 25 hits, drew six walks and got hit by a pitch seven times in the game.Â
Isaac Quintero fared the best of four Cal State LA pitchers, limiting the Yotes to four hits and just one run over three effective innings. He didn't walk a batter and struck out two.
Brandon Gutierrez got the start and was tied after two innings, but he was unable to retire a batter in the third and Cal State San Bernardino took the lead for good.
Omar Gonzalez gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the first inning and a solo home run by Manuel and a sacrifice fly by Mara gave the Golden Eagles a 3-2 lead in the top of the second. Cal State San Bernardino, though, tied it at 3-3 in the bottom of the second and then got a grand slam home run from Patrick Fregoso as part of a 10-run rally in the bottom of the third.
Axtell hit a three-run home run in the top of the fourth to get the Golden Eagles within 13-6, but Cal State San Bernardino answered with 13 runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Omar Gonzalez hit a two-run home run for the Golden Eagles in the sixth and Mara hit a two-run home run for the Golden Eagles in the seventh.
