Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Was a key part of the Golden Eagles pitching staff in his first year with the program. Appeared in eight games with two starts. Had a 3-0 record with a 4.95 earned run average. Had 14 walks and 13 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched. Made his Cal State LA debut and got the final out of the eighth inning at Biola on Feb. 8. Allowed only one earned run over 2 1/3 innings to pick up his first win in a 17-5 victory over Sonoma State on March 28. Picked up his second win with 1 2/3 innings of strong relief in a 13-5 win at Cal State East Bay on April 4. Pitched a season-high six innings and gave up four runs to earn his third win of the season, a 16-5 decision at Cal State Dominguez Hills on May 1. Struck out a season-high five in the outing. Made the first start of his Cal State LA career and allowed two earned runs over three innings in a 14-9 win at Chico State on April 17. Allowed only five hits and two runs over 5 1/3 innings of his second start, a 4-3 win over Cal State San Bernardino on April 25.

At Quartz Hill High School: Earned second-team All-League honors. Had a 3-2 record with a 1.03 earned run average in 11 appearances and two starts in 2024. Walked 14 and struck out 39 in 34 innings pitched. Also played first base and hit .321 and was third on the team with 21 runs batted in.

Personal: Son of Daniel and Claudia Quintero Sr. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys golfing, watching movies and reading his Bible. Lists road trips with the team as his most exciting experience in sports. Twin brother Ismael is also on the roster.
