2025: Had a historic season for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Tossed the program’s first no-hitter since 2007 in a 7-1 win at Cal Poly Pomona on March 22. Walked four and struck out six in the seven-inning nightcap of a doubleheader. Worked around three errors and allowed only an unearned run in the first inning. Took a huge jump up from his freshman season and became the team’s best starter as a sophomore. Had a 4-7 record with a 4.23 earned run average in 13 starts. Led the team with 72 1/3 innings pitched. Walked 32 and struck out 50. Shared the team lead with 13 starts and led the starters in wins and earned run average. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Made his first career start for the Golden Eagles and allowed four hits and three runs over four innings. Picked up his first win at Cal State LA with a seven-inning gem against Cal State San Marcos on March 1. Allowed only an infield hit in seven innings with three walks and five strikeouts in a 6-0 victory. Was the first of four consecutive victories. Allowed only two hits and three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of a 5-4 win at Stanislaus State on March 8. Allowed 10 hits and two runs in a seven-inning complete game over San Francisco State on March 15 and then recorded the no-hitter at Cal Poly Pomona on March 22. Got the start and pitched 6 2/3 strong innings against Chico State in a CCAA Tournament game on May 7. Had a career-high eight strikeouts over five innings against Regis on Feb. 22. Led the team with four complete games.

2024: Made four appearances on the mound in his first year with the program. Had an 0-1 record with a 6.75 earned run average. Allowed four hits and four runs with five walks and five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Made his Cal State LA debut and pitching a season-high three innings at Chaminade on Feb. 2. Didn’t allow a hit or a run over his next three appearances. Struck out two of the three batters he faced in a win over La Sierra on Feb. 17. Also tossed a scoreless inning at Cal State Monterey Bay on March 29.

At Ganesha High School: Competed in baseball and football. Team won a CIF championship.

Personal: Son of Jason and Elizabeth Gutierrez. Majoring in business. Enjoys running, working out and socializing. Lists throwing a no-hitter as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has two brothers, one a twin and the other an older brother.
