2025: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and was a key part of the every-day lineup in his second year with the program. Appeared in 49 games with 48 starts. Hit .339 with 61 hits in 180 at bats. Had 38 runs batted in and 37 runs scored. Was second on the team in batting average, second in RBI and third in runs scored. Had a career-high five hits in a 16-5 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on May 1. Scored a season-high three runs and drove in one. Went 3-for-4 with a season-high four RBI in a 13-12 win over Cal Poly Pomona on March 21. Matched that with four RBI in a 17-5 win over Sonoma State on March 28. Went 3-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI in California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game against Chico State on May 7. Hit safely in 31 games with 20 multi-hit games. Had seven three-hit games and one five-hit game.

2024: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his first on-field action for the program. Appeared in 23 games with 16 starts. Hit .283 with 17 hits in 60 at bats. Drove in 10 runs and scored nine. Made his Cal State LA debut and went 1-for-4 with a triple and run scored at Hawaii Pacific on Feb. 1. Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a season-high three RBI against Stanislaus State on May 3. Hit safely in 14 games with three multi-hit games.

2023: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program and was a redshirt.

At Walnut High School: Hit .370 during his senior season and .345 as a junior. Earned All-Hacienda League honors as a junior and senior. Received a Hall of Fame award from the high school. Was named the Anaheim Lions Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Personal: Son of Cesar and Juana Chavez. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys fishing and camping. Lists hitting his first home run as a junior in high school as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has three siblings, Emily, Janel and Nathan. Says he is a big dog lover. Also says he is working on strengthening his faith with God by praying every day. Says he likes to listen to every genre of music and also likes to meditate in his free time to clear his mind and that it also helps for baseball. Points out his favorite book is Don’t Hurt Me by David Coggins and that he loves to read books.
