Biography

2015: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in indoor track and field in her final year with the program. Had best marks of 8.04 in the 60 meters and 18-3.25 in the long jump. Earned All-West Region honors in the long jump. For her career, had best marks of 12.06 in the 100, 26.08 in the 200, 19-7.50 in the long jump and 38-10.25 in the triple jump in outdoor track and 8.04 in the 60, 18-3.25 in the long jump and 34-7.75 in the triple jump. Finished her career No. 9 all-time at Cal State LA in the long jump and No. 10 in the triple jump in outdoor track and No. 10 in the long jump in indoor track.

2014: Had outstanding seasons for the Golden Eagles in both indoor and outdoor track and field. Qualified for the NCAA Championships in her final season of outdoor competition in the long jump and finished 21st in the country. Earned All-West Region honors in the long jump and triple jump. Earned All-CCAA honors in two events after finishing second in the conference in the long jump and third in the 100 meters. Had best marks of 12.06 in the 100, 19-7.50 in the long jump and 38-10.25 in the triple jump in outdoor track. Had best marks of 8.11 in the 60, 17-6 in the long jump and 34-7.75 in the triple jump in indoor track. Her long jump mark is No. 9 all-time at Cal State L.A. and her triple jump mark is 10th.

2013: Competed early in the year for the Golden Eagles, but missed most of the outdoor season because of injury. Had best marks of 8.19 in the 60 meters, 16-8.50 in the long jump and 34-2.75 in the triple jump in indoor track and field and 14-10 in the long jump in outdoor.

2012: Had a strong opening season with the Cal State L.A. program. Had best marks of 17-7 in the long jump and 35-3.75 in the triple jump. Competed in both events in the California Collegiate Athletic Association championships. Also had the team’s second-best mark in the 100 at 12.45 and had a best mark of 26.08 in the 200.

At American River Junior College: Was the team’s Most Improved Runner in 2010-11. Had best times of 12.05 in the 100 and 25.39 in the 200. Also had top marks of 18-0 in the long jump and 36-4 in the triple jump. Won Big 8 Conference titles in the 100, 200 and as part of the 4x100 team. Also placed third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

At Tokay High School: Competed in basketball, track and field and softball. Was on the varsity track and field team for four years. Was the MVP in basketball in 2006-07 and Most Improved in basketball in 2007-08. Was the Athlete of the Year in 2008-09.

Personal: Daughter of Alonzo and Sonja Ward. Majoring in anthropology. Enjoys observing others, shopping, traveling and being silly. Lists watching herself grow and achieve new boundaries and qualifying for nationals as her most exciting experiences in sports.
