Cal State LA Athletics

2007: Had a second outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and completed a two-year career with the program. Appeared in 20 games and started all 20. Played a total of 1,830 minutes. Had four goals and three assists for 11 points. Was fourth on the team in scoring. Earned second-team All-Far West Region honors from Daktronics and earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Had a goal and two assists in the Golden Eagles' season-opening 5-0 win over Saint Martin's on Aug. 23. Picked up the first goal in a 2-1 win at UC San Diego on Sept. 23 and had the team's only goal against Grand Canyon on Oct. 7. Also had the team's lone goal against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 14. Picked up an assist on a goal by Spencer Tripp with 14 seconds left in regulation of a 1-0 win at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 29. Named Cal State L.A.'s Exceptional Student-Athlete of the Year (male) for 2007-08. For his career, appeared in 43 games with 43 starts. Played a total of 3,7771 minutes. Had four goals and three assists for 11 points.

2006: Had a strong first season for the Golden Eagles and helped solidify the defense. Started all 23 games for Cal State L.A. Was named to the NCAA Division II Far West Regional All-Tournament team.

At University of North Florida: Appeared in 14 games and started 13 times for the Ospreys in 2005 as a sophomore. As a freshman, played in 15 matches and started 12 times in 2004.

At Boston Spa Comprehensive: Was a four-year letterman at midfield in Leeds, England.

Personal: Son of Paul and Pat Thurston. Majoring in English. Enjoys Winning Eleven, Mario kart, ping-pong, cooking and “Luke Towning T.V.” Lists becoming the Heidleman Rd. Ping-Pong champion in 2007 and playing with Amaranth F.C. in 2003-04 as his most exciting experiences in sports.
