Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had another excellent season for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Appeared and started in 46 games. Hit .318 with 48 hits in 151 at bats. Had one home run, 30 runs batted in and 21 runs scored. Had the first five-hit game when he went 5-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI in a 17-9 win over Chico State on March 22. Also had four RBI in a 2-for-4 performance in an 11-2 win against Chaminade on Feb. 4. Went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and one RBI in a 15-11 win at Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 23. Hit safely in 28 games and had 15 multi-hit games, including one five-hit game and two three-hit games.

2023: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles as a freshman in his first year with the program. Appeared in 46 games with 43 starts. Hit .300 with one home run, 20 runs batted in and 24 runs scored. Was fifth on the team in batting average and fourth with a .379 on-base percentage. Made his Cal State LA debut and singled in his first at bat in a 15-2 win over Providence Christian College on Feb. 2. Made his first start and went 2-for-4 with one RBI in a 7-4 win over Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 17. Hit a first-inning grand slam home run as part of a 3-for-4 performance in a 10-9 win over Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 18. Hit safely in 27 games and had 13 multi-hit games on the season, including six three-hit games.

At Moorpark High School: Earned first-team All-Coastal Canyon League honors and named Defensive Player of the Year for his team. Earned Ventura County Baseball Coaches Association All-Country first team and All-CIF Division II second team honors. Named Ventura County Male Athlete of the Year for Moorpark High School and selected to the 2022 Ventura County All-Star team. Led his team in runs batted in as a junior and helped team win a CIF playoff game.

Personal: Son of Jerry and Ingrid Florida-Gonzalez. Majoring in business marketing. Enjoys cooking and watching movies. Lists hitting a first-inning grand slam as part of a 3-for-4 performance in a 10-9 win over Colorado School of Mines in the second start of his freshman year as his most exciting experience in sports.
