Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had an outstanding season in her first year with the program. Had best times of 62.58 in the 400 and 64.35 in the 400 hurdles. Anchored the 4x400 relay team that placed sixth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Also finished 14^th in the 400 hurdles. Competed for Cal State LA’s indoor track and field team as well. Had best marks of 28.14 in the 200 and 62.62 in the 400. Ran for Cal State LA’s cross country team for a second season in the fall. Competed in five of the team’s six races and was a consistent contributor. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 21:47.8 at the Biola Invitational. Had a best 6,000-meter time of 26:05.8 at the Highlander Invitational. Finished 87^th at the CCAA Championships and 183^rd at the NCAA West Regional.

2023: Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall and had a strong season in her first year with the program. Was the team’s No. 1 runner in two meets and a top-two finisher in her other two races. Had a best 6,000-meter time of 25:10.4 at the UCR Highlander Classic on Oct. 14. Was the team’s No. 2 runner in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships while finishing 80^th in 25:42.8.

At West Los Angeles College: Was the Most Improved Player on the women’s soccer team and a member of the state champion 4x400 relay team. Track team won the conference championship in 2023. Had best marks of 63.12 in the 400 and 2:29.06 in the 800. 4x400 team had a winning time of 3:51.99 in the state championships.

At Santa Monica High School: Competed in cross country, track and field and soccer.

Personal: Daughter of Christine Romo. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys learning new languages, listening to music, Futsal games, cooking and baking. Lists making it to track and field state finals and scoring goals in her junior college futbol career as her most exciting experiences in sports. Notes she is proudly from Jalisco, Mexico.
