Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association recognition after finishing second in the javelin at the CCAA Championships. Also placed 11^th in the hammer. Had best marks of 32-0.25 in the shot put, 99-9 in the discus, 149-11 in the hammer and 127-4 in the javelin. Also competed for Cal State LA’s indoor team and had a best mark of 44-11.50 in the weight throw.

At Glendale Community College: Placed fourth in the state in the javelin and was second in Southern California and second in the conference as a sophomore. Also placed third in the conference in the hammer throw. Won the conference championship in the javelin as a freshman. Had best marks of 119-11 in the javelin and 122-9 in the hammer.

At Grover Cleveland Charter School: Competed in volleyball, soccer and track and field. Won the team MVP award in track and field in both her junior and senior seniors. Was named the Outstanding Opposite Hitter in volleyball as a senior. Earned academic honors for all three sports in her freshman, junior and senior seasons.

Personal: Daughter of Jose Portillo and Rose Pineda. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys coaching volleyball to middle school students, playing piano and listening to music. Lists being able to travel for indoor season last year at Cal State LA and being able to get three personal records and securing the second-place medal in the javelin at the CCAA Championships in outdoor as her most exciting experiences in sports. Notes it rained heavily at the meet and even in the rain, she was able to get the job done.
