Cal State LA Athletics

2017: Had an outstanding season in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in 21 games and started three times. Played a total of 631 minutes. Had two goals and one assist for five points. Scored the team's final goal in a 4-0 win over Bethesda on Aug. 31. Had a game-tying goal in the 88th minute at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 11. Had an assist on an overtime goal by Julian Zamora in a 1-0 win over Chico State in the regular season finale on Oct. 28 that got Cal State LA into the conference tournament. For his career, appeared in 38 games with four starts. Played a total of 1,078 minutes. Had four goals and two assists for 10 points.

2016: Played a key role for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 17 games and started once. Played a total of 447 minutes. Had two goals and one assist for five points. Scored the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over Cal State East Bay on Sept. 16. Also had the game-winner late in the first half of a 2-1 win at Humboldt State on Oct. 27. Had an assist on a goal by Tim Eiben in a 6-2 win over Saint Martin’s on Sept. 1. Made his Cal State LA debut and played 34 minutes in the win over Saint Martin's. Got his first career start and played 44 minutes in a 0-0 tie at Concordia-Irvine on Sept. 8

At Southwestern College: Earned first-team All-State and first-team All-Conference honors. Team won a conference championship in 2014.

At Hilltop High School: Was on a team that won league championships three times and was a CIF finalist twice. Earned All-League honors as a senior and was an honors graduate.

Personal: Son of Rigoberto and Silvia Maciel. Majoring in economics. Enjoys hanging out with friends. Lists the Dallas Cup as his most exciting experience in sports.
