Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the program. Started all 21 games and played a total of 1,212 minutes. Had four goals and five assists for 13 points. Was second on the team in scoring. Earned second-team All-West Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Also earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. Scored her biggest goal of the season in the first half of a 2-1 win over Seattle Pacific in a second-round NCAA playoff game on Nov. 12. Scored the first goal of her Cal State L.A. career in the 59th minute of a 1-0 win over Chico State on Sept. 18. Also had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory at Sonoma State on Oct. 7 and had a goal in a 6-1 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 30. Made her Cal State L.A. debut and played 49 minutes in a 2-0 win over Grand Canyon on Sept. 3.

At Long Beach State: Played in 16 games for the 49ers in 2009 and in 10 games in 2007. Scored the final goal in a 5-0 season-opening win over Cal State Bakersfield.

At Highland High School: Was a four-year letterwinner in soccer. Named the team’s most valuable offensive player in 2005 and was named a scholar-athlete.

Personal: Daughter of Baltazar and Francisca Mendez. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys cooking, baking and listening to music. Lists playing in two Under-20 qualifiers and two Under-20 World Cups as her most exciting experiences in sports.
