TURLOCK -- Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team picked up a road win over an NCAA Division II West Region foe Cal State Stanislaus on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start with wins in all three doubles contests and never looked back in an 8-1 victory over the Warriors in Turlock. Cal State L.A. (6-6) has won four of its last five matches.
Cal State L.A. picked up wins in five of the six singles matches.
Nozomi Matsuoka posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory over J'Ana Diamond at No. 1 singles,
Sonia Landeros beat Jessica Laurie in three sets at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2,
Elizaveta Sokolova beat Analyssa Tallas at No. 3 singles, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2,
Iris Raileanu beat Jessica Stokes, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 4 singles and
Amalia Arvidsson beat Kaitlyn Ireland, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 6 singles.
Landeros and Matsuoka beat Laurie and Diamond at No. 1 doubles, 8-5,
Alexandra Makashov and Raileanu beat Tallas and Qualls at No. 2 doubles, 8-3 and
Victoria Vo and Sokolova beat Ireland and Stokes, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles.
Cal State L.A. will return to action on Thursday with another road match, this one at Azusa Pacific, beginning at 1 p.m..
