At Riverside Community College: Was the state junior college champion in the discus in 2010 and set a new meet record with a throw of 168-3. Was the only junior college thrower to top 160 feet in the nation that year. Earned RCC’s Most Valuable Athlete award in 2010. Was the conference champion in the javelin and earned regional championships in the discus and javelin in 2010.

At Temescal Canyon High School: Competed in basketball and track and field. Earned the Top Thrower award from 2006-08 and was the Southwestern League champion in the discus in 2008. Earned All-CIF second-team honors in 2007-08 and was the MVP of the basketball team in 2008 after averaging 17.8 points per game.

Personal: Daughter of Camilio and Jannette Gutierrez. Majoring in social work. Enjoys street ball, body surfing, wake boarding, any type of sporting event and yoga. Lists her final year at RCC as very memorable and a great experience. Says she has two older brothers, who both graduated from college. One is a big-time rugby player and weight-lifter and the other plays recreational football. Says she comes from an athletic family.
