Cal State LA Athletics

At American River Junior College: Was the team’s Most Improved Runner in 2010-11. Had best times of 12.05 in the 100 and 25.39 in the 200. Also had top marks of 18-0 in the long jump and 36-4 in the triple jump. Won Big 8 Conference titles in the 100, 200 and as part of the 4x100 team. Also placed third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

At Tokay High School: Competed in basketball, track and field and softball. Was on the varsity track and field team for four years. Was the MVP in basketball in 2006-07 and Most Improved in basketball in 2007-08. Was the Athlete of the Year in 2008-09.

Personal: Daughter of Alonzo and Sonja Ward. Majoring in anthropology. Enjoys surfing, rock climbing, singing and taiko. Lists hitting grand slams in softball and recording personal records in track events in the same day as her most exciting experience in sports.
