Cal State LA Athletics

2009: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the program. Finished eighth in the hammer and 13th in the discus at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Had best marks of 32-11.25 in the shot put, 131-5 in the discus and 150-7 in the hammer. Also competed well during the indoor season. Had a best mark of 45-10.75 in the weight throw. Finished her career No. 7 all-time at Cal State L.A. in the weight throw.

At Cerritos College: Earned All-America and All-State honors in 2008. Placed fourth in the state, third in Southern California and second in the South Coast Conference and was a part of a state championship team in 2008. Had best marks of 138-8 in the discus and 142-11 in the hammer throw. Earned All-State honors in 2007 in the discus. Was the conference champion in that event and placed third in Southern California and eighth in the state.

At El Rancho High School: Competed in track and field and volleyball. Was a captain her junior and senior years. Team won the Del Rio League title all three years she was on the team.

Personal: Daughter of Virgil and Sharon McClain. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys running. Lists beating her personal record three consecutive times as her most exciting experiences in sports. Has continued her education and track and field career after having a son, Isaiah, in 2006.
