2009: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in the final year of her career with the program. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors after finishing second in the 10,000 meters at the conference championships. Also finished sixth in the conference in the 5,000. Had best marks of 4:55.74 in the 1,500, 10:28.88 in the 3,000, 17:52.11 in the 5,000 and 36:30.81 in the 10,000. Also ran well in indoor track. Had a best mark of 11:03.42 in the 3,000. For her career, had best marks of 4:55.74 in the 1,500, 10:28.88 in the 3,000, 17:52.11 in the 5,000 and 36:30.81 in the 10,000 in outdoor track and 11:03.42 in the 3,000 and 19:02.23 in the 5,000 in indoor track. Finished her career No. 8 all-time at Cal State L.A. in the 10,000 in outdoor track and No. 8 all-time in the 3,000 in indoor track.
2008: Earned All-CCAAÂ honorable mention in outdoor track and field after finishing third in the 10,000 meters with a time of 38:01.89. Placed seventh in the 5,000 with a time of 18:37.78. Had best marks of 5:03.84 in the 1,500, 10:42.12 in the 3,000, 18:02.86 in the 5,000 and 38:01.89 in the 10,000 in outdoor track. Had best marks of 11:18.91 in the 3,000 and 19:02.23 in the 5,000 in indoor track. Also had a successful season for the Cal State L.A. cross country team in the fall. Placed 19th in the CCAA championships with a time of 23:13.9 over 6,000 meters and helped the Golden Eagles to a second-place team finish. Was a consistent top-five runner for the Golden Eagles. Finished 63rd in the NCAA Division II West Region Championships and 133rd in the NCAA Division II Championships.
2007: Was a top-seven runner on the Golden Eagle cross country team that won the CCAA championship and finished fifth in the country. Competed in all eight meets for Cal State L.A. Placed 24th in the CCAA Championships with a 6,000-meter time of 22:29.9. Finished 69th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 22:51.0 and placed 126th in the NCAA Division II Championships with a time of 23:24.2.
At Glendale College: Was on a team that captured the Southern California title and finished second in the state during her sophomore year and third in the state during her freshman year. Also competed in track and field.
At Lincoln Senior High School: Was a MESA (math, engineering, science, achievement) member, a UPP (University Preparatory Program) member and a member of the CSF Honor Society. Was also a member of the Biology Club. Competed in cross country, track and field and soccer.
Personal: Daughter of Luis Castaneda and Rosario Villalobos. Majoring in Spanish. Enjoys swimming, reading, hanging out with friends and movies. Lists participating in the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships in 2007 as her most exciting experience in sports.
