Biography

2010: Had a good indoor season for the Golden Eagles to conclude her career with the program. Had best marks of 5:31.92 in the mile and 18:02.89 in the 5,000. For her indoor career, had best marks of 5:31.92 in the mile and 18:02.89 in the 5,000. Finished her career No. 8 all-time in the 5,000 in indoor track.

2009: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the outdoor program. Had best times of 10:51.13 in the 3,000 meters and 37:45.98 in the 10,000. Also ran well during the indoor season and had a best mark of 5:41.24 in the mile. For her outdoor career, had best marks of 5:05.83 in the 1,500, 10:47.63 in the 3,000, 18:19.95 in the 5,000 and 37:45.98 in the 10,000.

2008: Had best times of 38:16.67 in the 10,000 meters, 18:19.95 in the 5,000, 10:47.63 in the 3,000 and 5:05.83 in the 1,500 for Cal State L.A.’s outdoor track and field team. Finished fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 10,000 and sixth in the conference in the 5,000. Had a best time of 18:58.76 in the 5,000 meters in indoor track for the Golden Eagles. Also ran well for Cal State L.A.’s cross country team in the fall. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors by finishing 13th in the conference meet with a 6,000-meter time of 22:59.7 while helping the Golden Eagles to a second-place team finish. Also ran well in the NCAA Division II West Region Championships and finished 19th in 23:05.8. Placed 132nd in the NCAA Championships.

2007: Was a top-seven runner for the Cal State L.A. cross country team that won the CCAA championship and finished fifth in the country. Placed 31st in the CCAA Championships with a time of 22:51.2 over 6,000 meters and was 48th in the NCAA Division II West Regional with a time of 21:05.0. Also finished 142nd in the NCAA Championships with a time of 23:47.6.

At Oxnard College: Ran in the state championship meet in cross country and finished sixth in the conference in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters in track and field.

Personal: Daughter of Jaime and Amelia Perez. Majoring in child development. Lists going to nationals with the 2007 Cal State L.A. cross country team as her most exciting experience in sports.
