Summary

Biography

2009: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Won a California Collegiate Athletic Association championship in the long jump. Earned two more All-CCAA awards after finishing third in the high jump and second as part of the 4x400 relay team. Also finished 10th in the 400. Had best marks of 12.77 in the 100, 61.16 in the 400, 5-3.75 in the high jump, 18-7.25 in the long jump and 33-4.75 in the triple jump. Qualified for the indoor nationals and placed 11th in the country in the long jump. Had best marks of  5-2.25 in the high jump and 19-1.25 in the long jump. For her career, had best marks of 12.77 in the 100, 61.16 in the 400, 5-3.75 in the high jump, 18-11.75 in the long jump and 33-4.75 in the triple jump in outdoor track and 5-2.25 in the high jump and 19-1.25 in the long jump in indoor track. Finished her icareer No. 9 all-time at Cal State L.A. in the high jump in outdoor track and No. 3 all-time in the high jump, No. 3 all-time in the long jump and No. 2 and No. 6 all-time as part of a distance medley teams in indoor track.

2008.: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles as a junior. Qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in the long jump with a mark of 18-11.75. Finished second in the California Collegiate Athletic Association with that jump and also earned second-team All-CCAA honors with the 4x100 relay team and third-team All-CCAA honors with the 4x400 relay team. Also had the team’s best mark in the high jump (5-1.75) and finished fifth in that event in the conference meet.

2007: Was limited to three early-season meets in 2007 due to injury.

At Saddleback College: Was the conference Women’s Field Most Valuable Player in 2005 and the Saddleback College MVP in 2006. Also received a scholarship award for having a grade point average above 3.50.

At Trabuco Hills High School: Was the team captain and MVP in 2004 and the team MVP in 2003. Earned All-CIF honors in 2004 and 2005. Set junior year jump records. Also earned Future Pride of the Mustangs recognition and the freshman Field MVP. Also played basketball in high school.

Personal: Daughter of Friena Speights. Majoring in English. Enjoys writing, listening to music and photography. Lists winning the Orange Empire Conference MVP award in 2005 as her most exciting experience in sports.
