Cal State LA Athletics

At Cal State Bakersfield: Set a program record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:26.92 and was named the Roadrunner of the Year in 2011. Also owns the school’s No. 3 best time in the 800 meters at 2:11.69. Was named the school’s outstanding graduate of the year, earning a chemistry degree in 2011.

At Riverside Community College: Earned All-America honors in 2009 in track and field and All-State honors in 2008. Was the team’s Most Valuable runner in 2008.

At Rancho Verde High School: Competed in cross country and track and field. Was the team MVP in cross country in 2006 and earned the Coach’s Award in cross country and track and field in 2006-07. Was a Scholar-Athlete from 2005-07 and was on the President’s Honor Roll from 2005-07.

Personal: Daughter of Felix Celis and Josefina Luna. Pursuing a graduate degree in biochemistry. Enjoys reading and dancing. Lists breaking the school record at Cal State Bakersfield in the 1,500 and breaking the 18-minute barrier in cross country as her most exciting experiences in sports.
