Cal State LA Athletics

2021-22: Was off to a strong start before an early-season injury in his one year with the program. Appeared in four games and averaged 5.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Made his Cal State LA debut and started in the season-opener against Biola (11-12-21). Had a season-high 10 points and seven rebounds against Simon Fraser (11-15-21). Had a season-high nine rebounds and eight points against Bethesda (11-18-21). After four games, missed the remainder of the season.

2020-21: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At UC Davis: Was on the roster in 2019-20, but did not compete in any games.

At Otero Junior College: Had an outstanding season in his one year with the program. Led the team with 15.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Earned All-Region honors. Ranked No. 7 in the country in rebounds, No. 17 with rebounding average, No. 20 in field-goal percentage (.653) and No. 25 in blocked shots (60).

At Desert Vista High School: Was a two-time team Most Valuable Player. Averaged 20.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. Earned first-team All-League honors twice and made the Tarkanian Classic All-Tournament Team twice. Also earned the Hoopball West Dream Champion Award.

Personal: Son of Joanie Smith. Majoring in communications. Enjoys working out, playing video games, fashion and movies/television shows. Lists playing in nationals in the eighth grade where the NBA bubble was held as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he played football in the fourth-thru-sixth grades.
