Biography

2024-25: Had another remarkable season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Started all 28 games he appeared in and played a total of 825 minutes. Averaged 11.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists. Was third on the team in scoring, fourth in minutes played and fifth in assists. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. Had a season-high 24 points and seven rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles to an 86-78 win over Cal State San Bernardino (2-8-25). Had 23 points at Chico State (1-25-25) and had 22 points, three rebounds and a season-high six assists in an 87-81 win over Cal State East Bay (1-18-25). Had a season-high eight rebounds and 11 points in a 75-63 win over Stanislaus State (12-5-24). Eclipsed 1,000 points for his career in an 83-79 win at Stanislaus State (2-15-25). Reached double figures in 17 games and scored 20 or more points in three games. For his career, appeared in 96 games with 78 starts. Played a total of 2,577 minutes. Averaged 10.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. Finished his career with 1,047 points. Reached double figures in scoring 54 times and scored 20 or more points eight times.
 
2023-24: Had a tremendous season for the Golden Eagles in his third season on the court with the program. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Appeared in 30 games and started 25 times. Played a total of 783 minutes, which was third on the team. Averaged 10.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Was fourth on the team in scoring and third in rebounding. Was also second on the team with 51 steals. Had a season-high 24 points and seven rebounds in an 81-66 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills (12-30-23). Was named CCAA Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 29-31. Also earned the award for the next week, Jan. 1-7, after big performances against Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino. Had 21 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals in a 79-55 win over Cal Poly Pomona (1-4-24) and 17 points, two rebounds, two blocks and three steals in a 95-85 win over Cal State San Bernardino (1-6-24). Had 14 points in a 75-73 CCAA Tournament win over Cal State Dominguez Hills (3-8-24). Reached double figures in scoring 16 times and had 20 or more points twice.
 
2022-23: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in his second season on the court with the program. Earned All-CCAA honorable mention. Appeared in 22 games with 12 starts. Played a total of 533 minutes. Averaged 12.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Was fourth on the team in scoring. Scored a career-high 27 points and had four rebounds and a career-high six assists in an 84-68 win over Stanislaus State (2-9-23). Also scored 26 points with four rebounds and four assists in an 84-66 win over San Francisco State (12-10-22). Had 19 points and four rebounds in an 82-65 win over Cal State Monterey Bay (12-8-22). Had 18 points and a season-high seven rebounds in a 68-61 win over Cal Poly Pomona (1-28-23). Reached double figures in scoring 13 times.

2021-22: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his first season on the court with the program. Was fifth on the team in scoring with 9.1 points per game. Also averaged 5.7 rebounds per game, which was second on the team, and 1.6 assists. Appeared in 16 games with 13 starts. Played a total of 437 minutes, which was third on the team. Made his Cal State LA debut and played eight minutes against Biola (11-12-21). Got his first start and scored 12 points with five rebounds in an 88-77 win over Simon Fraser (11-15-21). Scored a season-high 21 points in a win over San Francisco State (1-29-22). Was 8-of-11 from the floor in the game. Also had 20 points and six rebounds at Concordia (11-13-21). Had 14 points and a season-high nine rebounds against Cal State San Bernardino (2-12-22). Reached double figures in scoring eight times.
 
2020-21: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.
 
At Shadow Hills HS: Was named the CIF 3A Player of the Year and led his team to a CIF 3A championship. Was also named the Desert Empire League Most Valuable Player and earned first-team All-League and first-team All-State honors. Team won the Desert Empire League championship. Was named the Desert Sun Male Athlete of the Year. Was also named the Damien Classic Bronze Division MVP and led the team to a tournament championship. Competed in basketball and track and field.

Personal: Son of Eduardo and Vanessa Escobar. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys hoop, the gym, shopping and getting tattoos. Lists winning the CCAA Tournament as his most exciting experience I sports.
