Cal State LA Athletics

2021-22: Was one of the team’s best players in his one season with the program. Appeared in 12 games and started five times. Was fourth on the team in scoring with 9.8 points per game. Also averaged 3.4 rebounds per game. Had a tremendous game while leading the Golden Eagles to a win at Fresno Pacific (12-20-21). Scored a season-high 28 points to go along with seven rebounds in a 69-58 victory. Had a season-high 12 rebounds at Cal State San Marcos (11-27-21). Had 18 points and nine rebounds against Sonoma State (1-6-22). Reached double figures in scoring in five straight games before suffering a season-ending injury in the second half against San Francisco State (1-29-22).

2020-21: Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association 2020-21 Winter Academic Honor Roll recognition. Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At DePaul: Was a two-time member of the Big East All-Academic Team. Played in 35 games with two starts in 2018-19. Started games against Coastal Carolina and USF in the College Basketball Invitational. Had seven points and seven assists in game two of the CBI finals against USF. Averaged nearly 14 minutes per game.

At Cal State Northridge: Appeared in all 30 games with 29 starts in 2017-18. Averaged 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 29 minutes per game. Averaged 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in Big West Conference games. Recorded three double-doubles. Posted his first double-double with 12 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in a win over Cal Poly. Also had 11 points and 10 rebounds at UC Irvine and had 15 points and 11 rebounds in 48 minutes played at Cal Poly. Poured in a career-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists against Cal State Fullerton.

At TCU: Played in 22 games for the Horned Frogs in his one year with the program. Saw action in 11 Big 12 Conference games.

At Westwind Prep: Starred in Arizona high school basketball at Westwind Prep and Hillcrest Prep. Averaged 30.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists per game as a senior. Set the Arizona high school state single-game scoring record with a 65-point performance on 26-of-27 shooting. Was the AZ Preps Player of the Year, the CAA Player of the Year and earned first-team All-State honors. Was part of a Division III state championship team.

Personal: Son of Chris Summers and Melodie Shreiner. Pursuing a graduate degree in philosophy. Enjoys balling out of control. Lists playing in the Big East Tournament in Madison Square Garden and setting the scoring record in high school as his most exciting experiences in sports.
