2008: Had a second outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in 18 matches and 72 sets. Was third on the team with 158 kills, third in service aces with 23 and third in digs with 204. Was fourth on the team with 189.5 points. Had a season-high 17 kills and 14 digs in a three-set win against Sonoma State on Oct. 25. Had 16 kills and 12 digs in a five-set match at Cal State Stanislaus on Nov. 1. Had a season-high 18 digs to go along with 11 kills in a four-set win at San Francisco State on Oct. 4. Had a season-high three aces in four matches. For her career, appeared in 45 matches and 171 sets. Had 436 kills, 63 aces, 536 digs and 527 points.

2007: Had a successful debut for the Golden Eagles and was one of the team’s top players. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Was third on the team in kills with 278 and led the team in service aces with 40. Was second on the team in digs with 332 and was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year. Appeared in all 27 matches and started 26 times. Played in 99 games. Recorded a season-high 20 kills and had 22 digs in a match at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 4. Also had 17 kills and 15 digs in a win over Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 15 in the NCAA Division II Pacific Region playoffs. Had double-digit kills in 17 of the team’s 27 matches. Had a season-high five aces to go along with 13 kills and 11 digs in a win over Cal State Stanislaus on Oct. 20.

At Fullerton College: Was the team’s Most Valuable Player and the Orange Empire Conference MVP as a sophomore. Earned All-Southern California regional honors. Team shared the conference championship and was ranked sixth in Southern California. Set records for most kills in a match and most kills in a season.

At Canyon High School: Earned first-team All-League honors as a junior and senior and second-team recognition as a sophomore. Was a scholar-athlete all four years in high school. Competed in volleyball, soccer and softball.

Personal: Daughter of Tim and Pam Laakso. Majoring in communications. Enjoys dodgeball and is a fan of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Anaheim Ducks. Lists reaching the semi-finals of the CIF playoffs in her sophomore year of high school as her most exciting experience in sports.
