2007: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in 22 matches and 74 sets. Was fifth on the team in kills with 179 and fourth in blocks with 46. Also had 15 set assists, 11 aces and 36 digs. Had a career-high 19 kills and five blocks in a four-set win over BYU-Hawaii on Aug. 24. Also had 16 kills in a four-set win over Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 21. Had a career-high eight blocks to go along with 12 kills in a four-set win at UC San Diego on Sept. 8. Had a career-high five aces in a four-set win over Chico State on Oct. 19. For her career, appeared in 49 matches and 164 sets. Had 361 kills, 117 blocks, 25 set assists, 12 aces, 65 digs and 436.5 points.

2006: Made an impressive debut for the Golden Eagles and earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Appeared in 27 matches and 90 games. Wound up fourth on the team in kills with 182 and second in blocks with 71. Hitting percentage of .315 led the team. Collected a season-high 17 kills and had three blocks in a three-game win over Sonoma State on Oct. 14. Also had 13 kills in a three-game win at Humboldt State on Sept. 9. Had a season-high six blocks three times, including the regular-season finale against Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 3 and in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs against BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 9.

At Pierce College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors as a sophomore and was the team’s Most Improved Player. Also earned second-team honors as a freshman. Was a member of the school’s Dean’s List.

At Valley Alternative Magnet HS: Was a two-time team Most Valuable Player and earned first-team All-Conference honors. Set new school records for hitting percentage, blocks and kills. Also earned the team award for Best Fighting Spirit.

Personal: Daughter of Donald Gross and Verona Steen. Majoring in African American Studies/History. Enjoys NBA basketball and the Dallas Mavericks. Lists being on the first women’s volleyball team at Pierce Junior College to make it to the state finals in 2004 as her most exciting experience in sports.
