CHICO -- Cal State LA's men's cross country team got another leading performance from
Raye Duarte Friday at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships.
Duarte, Cal State LA's No. 1 runner in all five meets this season, finished 49th in a field of 97 runners for the Golden Eagles' top individual finish. He had a time of 26:49.0 over an 8,000-meter course at Hooker Oak Park. Cal State LA finished ninth in a nine-team field with a total of 272 points.
Chico State won the conference championship with 30 points, finishing just ahead of Cal Poly Pomona (36 points) and Cal State San Marcos (73 points).
Orion Perez was next for the Golden Eagles, finishing 74th with a time of 27:34.8,
Trent Osburn was 83rd in 28:06.9,
Nicholas Delgado was 87th in 28:21.4 and
Demitri Hernandez rounded out the top-five by finishing 91st in 28:51.5.
Miguel Morales-Lopez was 92nd in 29:03.9,
Christian Perez was 93rd in 29:04.6,
Damian Bonds was 95th in 30:52.2,
Antonio Mendoza-Lopez was 96th in 31:03.4 and
Joshua Lovato was 97th in 31:11.1 for the Golden Eagles.
