LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's Raye Duarte has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 13-19, the conference announced on Monday.
 
Duarte ran a time of 26:20.6 at the UCR Highlander Invitational to place 26th, 19th among all collegiate runners. He posted the top place of any CCAA student-athlete on the weekend.
 
The junior from Apple Valley, Calif., is the first Golden Eagle to earn CCAA Men's Runner of the Week honors since Moises Marquez in 2021. He has been Cal State LA's No. 1 runner in all four meets so far this season.
 
Duarte and the Golden Eagles' men's cross country team will be at the CCAA Championships on Friday, Oct. 24, in Chico.
