Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Had a strong debut for Cal State LA’s track and field team. Had best times of 4:29.00 in the 1,500, 9:53.12 in the 3,000 and 17:01.61 in the 5,000 in outdoor track and 2:21.28 in the 800 in indoor track. Finished 22^nd in the 1,500 at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 4:36.03. Earned 2024-25 CCAA All-Academic honors. Also ran for a second season with Cal State LA’s cross country program in the fall. Competed in all six meets. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 27:56.4 at the UCR Highlander Invitational. Finished 87^th at the CCAA Championships with a time of 28:21.4 over 8,000 meters and placed 146^th at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 34:12.7 over 10,000 meters.

2024: Had a solid season in his first year with Cal State LA’s cross country program in the fall. Was one of five runners to compete all six races for the Golden Eagles. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 27:40.1 at the CCAA Championships while finishing 69^th in the race. Placed 144^th at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 35:37.51 over 10,000 meters.

At John Burroughs High School: Was a NAF student all three years. Part of the Burbank Airport Academy from January-May of 2023. Was the Most Outstanding Distance Runner for track and field in 2023 and was runner-up in the CIF cross country prelims.

Personal: Son of Benny and Domenica Delgado. Majoring in mechanical engineering. Enjoys going on runs, listening to music and building things. Lists winning first place at one of his meets as his most exciting experience in sports.
