IRVINE -- Cal State LA's men's and women's track and field teams enjoyed success Saturday at the Vince O'Boyle Track and Field Classic at UC Irvine.

The Golden Eagles had a pair of 1-2 finishes and also got another high jump victory from Porte-Joie Tshiaba to highlight a full day of competition. Qwintin Workman, who has the nation's No. 1 time in the 400 hurdles, led a 1-2 finish in the 200 with Leon Tafirenyika and Shannon Turner and Jesus Nichol II had a 1-2 finish in the 800. 

Destiny Moedano had a seventh-place finish in the 800 meters and Eden Hahn had a pair of strong performances in the 100 and 200 for the women's team.

Tshiaba won for the fourth straight meet in the high jump with a mark of 6-9.75. Workman won the 200 with a time of 21.57, narrowly edging Tafirenyika, who was second in 21.59. Turner won the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.18 and Nichol II was second in 1:53.99.

Cal State LA's 4x100 relay team also picked up a win with a season's best time of 41.28.

Burrell Adams finished second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 54.43, while Darnelle Harris returned to action on Saturday and finished third in the 100 with a time of 10.87.

Moedano was seventh in the women's 800 with a time of 2:17.39, while Alyssa Johnson was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 17-0.50.

The women's 4x100 relay team of Hahn, Isis Johnson, Aazalet Danage and Alyssa Johnson was fifth with a time of 48.47.

Cal State LA will return to action next Saturday at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational at Cal Berkeley.
