CLAREMONT -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team enjoyed some quality competition this weekend at the ITA Fall Circuit hosted by Pomona-Pitzer.
In fact, the Golden Eagles got to enjoy an All-Cal State LA doubles final on Sunday where
Sarah Olmos and
Sakura Kurokawa beat teammates
Alexandra Hincu and
Hideka Takamura, 8-3. Olmos and Kurakawa beat the team of  L. Pomfret and P. Rothwell, 8-1 in the semifinals, while Hincu and Takamura beat W. Potter and M. Wolfer, 8-3 to reach the finals.
In singles,
Courtlyn Lam fell in the C singles finals to J. Oh, 6-1, 6-4 and Olmos fell to B. Tuffs in the A singles back draw final.
Cal State LA started the competition on Saturday with both singles and doubles matches.
Lam won her first match against Sooni Seul, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 and beat Avery Yang, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 to reach Sunday's finals.
Olmos fell in her first match, 6-2, 6-1, to Audrey Large, but won her second over Morgan Tuffs, 6-1, 6-1, while Takamura won her first match against Marie Frati, 1-6, 6-4, 10-5 and fell to Sianna Kavrakova in her second contest, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).Â
Kurakawa advanced after a withdrawal in the first round and then fell to Audrey Large in her second, 6-2, 6-1, while Hincu won her first match against Mina Ahmadi, 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 and fell to Morgan Tuffs in her second, 6-1, 6-4.
In doubles play, Olmos and Kurakawa advanced past Mina Ahmadi and Mari Carmen Bufkin, 8-2, and Hincu and Takamura beat Sweden Van Houten and Katarina Drinchich, 8-4.
This concludes the Golden Eagles' fall competitions. Cal State LA will start its spring dual match seasonon Feb. 3 at Westmont.Â
