NORTHRIDGE -- Cal State LA's beach volleyball team got another big win from its No. 1 pair of Karla Santos and Alejandra Negron to highlight the day Tuesday at Cal State Northridge.

Santos and Negron rallied impressively for a 15-21, 21-13, 15-13 win over Cal State Northridge's Daniella Molinari and Seyvton Waggoner in the Golden Eagles' 4-1 loss to the Matadors at the Matador Beach Volleyball Complex. Cal State LA (1-5) dropped the other four contests against Cal State Northridge (2-4).

Cal State LA's No. 2 pair of Janessa Mata and Jessica Kaeka played a tough match against Darbi Honeycutt and Mikaela Maughan before falling, 23-21, 21-12. Sifa Faaiu and Daisy Crenshaw fell to Taylor Brydon and Lauren McMurray at No. 3 pairs, 21-8, 21-12, Victoria Duarte and Jeshmarie Suarez fell to Nicole Nevarez and Lexi McLeod at No. 4 pairs, 21-12, 21-2 and Caitlyn Bato and Adriana Maldonado fell to Cassidy Rosso and Kailey Klein at No. 5 pairs, 21-8, 21-12.

The Golden Eagles will play two matches on Friday, one against host Concordia and the other against Hope International.
