Cal State LA Athletics

2017: Was on the roster for Cal State LA’s inaugural beach volleyball team in the spring. Concluded a successful two-year career with the indoor program in the fall. Appeared in 23 matches and a total of 76 sets. Was fifth on the team in kills with 146 and fifth in digs with 88. Tied a career-high with 15 digs in Cal State LA’s California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament win over Sonoma State on Nov. 16. Also had 15 kills at Chico State on Sept. 15.Reached double-figures in kills eight times.

2016: Had a promising first season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 20 matches and played a total of 50 sets. Was fifth on the team in kills with 79. Also contributed 73 digs, 13 blocks and two service aces. Had a season-high 14 kills, 13 digs and three blocks in a four-set win over Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 24. Also had nine kills and 10 digs in a four-set win at Sonoma State on Sept. 30. Had eight kills in wins at San Francisco State on Oct. 1, Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 7 and at Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 22. Earned a CCAA Fall All-Academic Award.

At City College of San Francisco: Earned first-team All-Conference honors and was a team Most Valuable Player.

At Notre Dame de Namur: Appeared in 19 matches for the Argonauts. Had a total of 130 kills. Had a season-high 19 and a hitting percentage of .630 in four sets against UC Santa Cruz. Also had 14 kills in a match against Dominican. Earned PacWest Freshman of the Week honors.

At South San Francisco High School: Was the Most Valuable Player of the team and earned first-team All-League honors. Graduated with honors.

Personal: Daughter of Faaiu and Traci Faaiu. Majoring in business administration and finance and law. Enjoys sleeping, but says she doesn’t ever get any. Lists beating Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2017 as her most exciting experience in sports.
