Summary

Biography

2018: Concluded her record-breaking four-year career with the Golden Eagles with another outstanding season. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention, receiving conference honors for a fourth time. Started all 18 games for the Golden Eagles and had a 10-6-2 record. Made 101 saves and recorded eight shutouts. The 101 saves are No. 5 all-time for a single season. Had a goals against average of 0.70 and a saves percentage of .866. Made a career-high 18 saves in a CCAA Tournament Game at Sonoma State on Oct. 30. Was one of two Cal State L.A. recipients of the 2018-19 Dr. Hal Charnofsky Memorial Award from the CCAA for academic and athletic accomplishments. Became the program's all-time leader in shutouts with 29 and saves with 347. Compiled 33 wins, which is No. 2 all-time. For her career, appeared and started in 72 matches. Played a total of 6,773 minutes and had a goals against average of 0.85, which is No. 3 all-time. Also had a saves percentage of .844. Also competed for Cal State LA's beach volleyball team in the spring (2019)..

2017: Had a third tremendous season for the Golden Eagles and earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association second-team honors. Started all 17 games for the Golden Eagles and recorded a 9-5-2 record with a goals against average of 0.83. Made 86 saves and had a save percentage of .835. Enters the season No. 3 all-time in career saves with 246. Had a career-high 16 saves in CCAA Tournament game against Sonoma State on Nov. 3. Recorded five more shutouts, giving her 21, which is tied for No. 1 all-time at Cal State LA.  Opened the season with five saves in a 1-0 win over Azusa Pacific on Aug. 31 and made two saves in a 2-0 victory at Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 15. Made three saves in a 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 22, six saves in a 1-0 victory over San Francisco State on Oct. 15 and six saves in a 1-0 win at Humboldt State on Oct. 22. Was named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team for a second time.

2016: Had a second straight outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and earned All-CCAA honorable mention for a second straight year. Started 19 games for the Golden Eagles and recorded a 7-8-4 record with a 1.00 goals against average. Made 86 saves and had a saves percentage of .811. Recorded nine shutouts, including five straight to open conference play as part of a six-shutout streak from Sept. 13 to Oct. 7. Had a season-high 12 saves in a match at Chico State on Oct. 7. Made two saves in a 2-0 win at Cal State San Bernardino in a CCAA Tournament first-round game. Then made five saves in a 0-0 tie with Sonoma State in the semifinals and stopped two penalty kicks to help the Golden Eagles advance to the tournament title game thanks to a 3-2 edge in the shootout. Was named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team.

2015: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles and earned All-CCAA honorable mention. Played every minute of every game. Recorded a 7-7-4 record with a 0.72 goals against average. Made 74 saves and allowed only 14 goals all season. Recorded seven shutouts, including three in a row that accounted for the Golden Eagles’ first three wins of the season. Made seven saves in a 1-0 win at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 27, eight saves in a 2-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 2 and seven saves in a 1-0 win over UC San Diego on Oct. 4. Had a season-high 12 saves in a 0-0 tie against Sonoma State on Sept. 18.
 
2014: Did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles in her first season with the program.

At Arcadia High School: Was the Pacific League’s Player of the Year in 2012-13 and her team’s soccer Most Valuable Player in 2012-13. Earned first-team All-Pacific League and first-team All-Area honors in 2012 and received the varsity soccer coaches’ award in 2010-11. Competed in soccer, softball, volleyball and track and field.

Personal: Daughter of Jose and Tracy Maldonado. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys eating, sleeping and watching Netflix. Lists stopping two penalty kicks in a CCAA Tournament semi-final game against Sonoma State and advancing to the finals as her most exciting experience in sports.
