ASUZA -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team concluded play at the 2018 ITA West Region Championships hosted by Azusa Pacific.
Mariko Sagara split a pair of consolation matches on Friday to wrap things up for the Golden Eagles. Sagara beat Fresno Pacific's Imane Van Veen, 8-2, in a second-round match before falling to Kaitlyn Nguyen of Dominican, 8-3.
The tournament crowns singles and doubles champions for the NCAA Division II West Region.
Cal State LA had some mixed results in the tournament.
Chelsey Ruiz,
Isabella Lopez and
Berta Acero Garcia all won first-round matches in singles, while the doubles teams of
Amanda Schneider-
Isabella Lopez and Ruiz-Acero Garcia also won first-round matches on Thursday.
Cal State LA will return to action on Nov. 9 at the CSUN Fall Invitational at Cal State Northridge.
