LONG BEACH -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team found itself going to Long Beach on Saturday as the Golden Eagles concluded play in the CSUN Fall Invitational.
The second day of the tournament was moved from Cal State Northridge to Long Beach State due to the poor air quality due to fires. The final day of the tourney, scheduled for Sunday, was canceled.
Amanda Schneider defeated Imaan Hassim of Youngstown State, 3-6, 6-2, 10-4 in a B Flight consolation match, while
Mariko Sagara beat Anna Hartman of Biola, 6-1, 6-2, in a second-round match of the G Flight.
Berta Acero-Garcia fell to Celia Morel of Grand Canyon, 6-1, 6-0, in a C Flight match, while
Chelsey Ruiz fell to Frana Ugarkovic of Sacramento State, 7-5, 6-4, in a E Flight contest.
Ruiz and Sagara fell in a doubles match to a team from Youngstown State, 6-2.
That concludes the fall tournament season for the Golden Eagles. Cal State LA will open its spring championship season on Feb. 1 with a home match against Westmont.Â
