ST. GEORGE, UTAH -- Cal State LA's baseball team did not have its patience rewarded on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles sat through a long weather delay before finally getting on the field and then committed a season-high six errors in a 15-7 loss to Concordia Portland at Dixie State College. Cal State LA (7-3) won two of its three games in a four-team tourney, but saw its final scheduled game against Saint Martin's get canceled.
Cal State LA jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one inning and held a 5-1 advantage through three innings, but Concordia (2-8) scored twice in the fourth and then scored six runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and four in the eighth to take control of the game.
Nathan Navarrete went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI and slugged his first home run of the season.
Sean Watkins was 2-for-4 with one run scored,
Angel Sanchez was 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBi and
Tommy Pincin was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Cole Crosby had four hits and drove in three runs for Concordia, which collected 15 hits.
Saxon Andross started on the mound for Cal State LA and allowed eight hits and three earned runs over 5 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out five.

Holden Berger all pitched in relief. Berger didn't allow a run over 1 2/3 innings.
Scott Schepige allowed six hits and five runs - two earned - over five innings to get the win for Concordia. James Brooks allowed five hits and two runs - one earned - over the final four innings to pick up the save.
The two teams combined to allow 12 unearned runs - eight of them by the Golden Eagles.
After Concordia took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Cal State LA struck for four in the bottom of the inning.
Andrew Hermanson had a sacrifice fly to score Navarrete to tie the game and
Nic Bereaud grounded out to score Watkins to make it 2-1.
Anthony Ayala reached on an error while Garret Dean scored to make it 3-1 and Sanchez singled in Pincin to make it 4-1.
Pincin scored on a wild pitch to make it 5-1 in the third, but Concordia scored eight unanswered runs to take a 9-5 lead. Navarrete drove in a run in the bottom of the sixth on a groundout to make it 9-6, but Concordia added two in the seventh and four in the eighth to extend its lead. Navarrete's solo home run in the eighth completed the scoring.
Cal State LA will return to action Thursday night in its California Collegiate Athletic Association opener at home against Cal State San Bernardino.
