Box ScoreLOS ANGELES -- Cal State L.A.'s baseball team took a break from its California Collegiate Athletic Association schedule with a scrimmage on Tuesday night against Korean Professional Baseball team NC Dinos.
The Golden Eagles got three shutout innings from
Greg Humbert to start the game, but NC Dinos scored three runs in the fourth and six in the fifth and went on to a 16-1 victory at Reeder Field. NC Dinos collected 15 hits off six Cal State L.A. pitchers and took advantage of five Golden Eagle errors.
Cal State L.A. managed six hits.
Humbert was outstanding in his three-inning stint. He retired all nine batters he faced and threw just 28 pitches.
The Golden Eagles got their only run in the seventh inning whene
Geoff Schuller singled in
Lawrence Dominguez.
Jesus Cuevas,
Nick Osuna,
Ryan Welker,
Trevor Meleski and
Josh Guerra also had singles for the Golden Eagles.
Cal State L.A. will resume CCAA play on Friday with the opener of a four-game series at San Francisco State.
