POMONA -- Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team endured a tough day on the court Friday in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match at Cal Poly Pomona.
The Golden Eagles dropped all three doubles contests and things didn't get any better in singles and Cal State L.A. fell, 9-0, to the Broncos at the Kellogg Tennis Complex. Cal State L.A. (1-2, 1-2 CCAA), since opening its conference schedule with a win at Cal State San Bernardino, has now dropped two straight matches. Cal Poly Pomona (3-2, 2-1 CCAA) won its second staight match.
Cal State L.A.'s best chance at winning a point came at No. 1 singles, where
Bojana Ducanovic won the first set, but ultimately fell in a tiebreaker to Jessica Winkler, 2-6, 6-1 (10-6). The rest of the matches were finished in straight sets, although
Princess Manasseh dropped a hard-fought 7-6 (3), 7-5 decision to Cal Poly Pomona's Kaitlin Wooldridge at No. 5 singles and
Marine Prevost lost to Michelle Stock, 7-6 (2), 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Cal State L.A. will return to action on Thursday, March 5, with a home match against Hawaii-Hilo.
