Summary

Biography

2011: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the program. Earned All-America honors in the discus after finishing third in the nation. Also finished 11th in the nation in the shot put. Had the nation's top mark in the shot put entering nationals. Was named the West Region Field Athlete of the Year. Earned All-West Region honors in the shot put and discus. Won California Collegiate Athletic Association championships in the shot put and discus and was named the CCAA Women's Track Newcomer of the Year. Also finished 18th in the conference in the hammer. Had best marks of 51-1 in the shot put, 168-1 in the discus and 120-8 in the hammer. Finished her career No. 3 all-time in the shot put.

At El Camino College: Won conference, Southern California and California State championships in the shot put two years in a row. Also placed third in the state in the discus. Was named El Camino College’s Athlete of the Year in 2009 and set school records in the shot put and hammer throw and moved up to the No. 2 spot in the discus. Had best marks of 52-2.75 in the shot put and 149-2 in the discus.

At Carson High School: Competed in track and field and reached the state championships in the shot put as a senior.

Personal: Daughter of Letasi and Lelea Leni. Is an undeclared major. Enjoys playing volleyball and basketball and being with her family and friends. Lists winning the state championship two years in a row in the shot put at El Camino College as her most exciting experience in sports. Says she has five brothers, two sisters, three nephews and one niece.
